Check-ups & cleanings
The simplest way to keep your smile healthy. A thorough exam and a gentle professional cleaning help us catch small problems early, before they become painful or costly.

What's included
- Complete oral exam: teeth, fillings, bite and jaw checked by Dr. Khubnani.
- Professional cleaning: gentle scaling to remove plaque and tartar, then a smooth polish.
- Digital X-rays, when needed: to spot what the eye can't, only as often as your history calls for.
- Gum health check: measuring gum pockets to catch early signs of gum disease.
- Oral cancer screening: a quick, painless check of your mouth, tongue and throat.
- Home-care tips: personal brushing and flossing advice, plus a plan for any treatment.
Your visit, step by step
- Check in and catch up [5 min]: we update your health history and ask how your teeth have been feeling.
- Exam and X-rays [15 min]: a full check of teeth, gums and bite, plus digital X-rays if they're due.
- Gentle cleaning [30 min]: plaque and tartar are carefully removed, then your teeth are polished. Ask for a break any time.
- Review together [5 min]: we show you what we found and explain any options, with costs, before you decide.
- Book your next visit [2 min]: we schedule your next cleaning before you leave, with a reminder closer to the date.
Why it matters
- Catch problems early: small cavities are quicker and more comfortable to fix.
- Protect your gums: removing tartar helps prevent gum disease, a leading cause of tooth loss in adults.
- A brighter, fresher smile: polishing lifts everyday stains from coffee, tea and food.
- Fewer costly surprises: prevention almost always costs less than repair.
Cost & coverage
Most dental plans include preventive care such as exams and cleanings. Share your plan details when you book and we'll check what's covered before your visit.
FAQ
How often should I have a check-up? Most people do well with a visit every six months. Depending on your gum health, we may suggest a different schedule.
Does a cleaning hurt? For most people, no. If your gums are sensitive, tell us and we'll adjust our pace and technique, or numb the area if needed.
Do I need X-rays at every visit? No. We only take X-rays when your history and risk level call for them, using low-dose digital imaging.
It's been years since my last visit. Is that okay? Absolutely, and there's no judgement. We'll start with a full exam and build a comfortable plan to get you back on track.
Can my children be seen at the same time? Yes. Add each family member when you book and we'll try to schedule back-to-back appointments.
