Children's dentistry

Happy, healthy smiles from the very first tooth. We keep visits calm, friendly and even a little fun, so your kids grow up feeling good about the dentist.

What's included

  • First visits: a short, gentle introduction to the chair, the tools and the team.
  • Check-ups and cleanings: at a pace that suits your child, with plenty of encouragement.
  • Fluoride treatments: a quick varnish that strengthens growing enamel.
  • Sealants: a thin protective coating on back teeth to keep cavities out.
  • Tooth-coloured fillings: gentle repairs if a cavity does appear.
  • Habit and growth advice: tips on brushing, teething, soothers and thumb-sucking, plus early bite checks.

Your child's visit, step by step

  1. A warm hello [5 min]: we say hi and let your child explore the chair and tools.
  2. A gentle look [10 min]: little ones can sit on your lap while we count teeth and check gums.
  3. A quick clean, if they're ready [10–20 min]: a polish and fluoride for older kids.
  4. Tips for you [5 min]: advice on brushing, snacks and habits, and a plan for the next visit.

Why it matters

  • Baby teeth count: they hold space for adult teeth and help with speaking and eating.
  • Catch problems early: small cavities in children can be treated before they hurt.
  • Build good habits: kids who visit early learn that check-ups are normal and nothing to fear.
  • Peace of mind for parents: you'll know what to look out for between visits.

Cost & coverage

Many plans cover children's preventive care. Government programs such as the Canadian Dental Care Plan and Healthy Smiles Ontario may help eligible families. We'll check your coverage when you book.

FAQ

When should my child first see a dentist? Within six months of the first tooth appearing, or by their first birthday.

Can I stay with my child? Of course. Parents are always welcome in the room.

What if my child cries or won't open their mouth? That's completely normal. We never force anything and will try again another day if needed.

How can I prepare my child? Talk about the visit positively, avoid words like "hurt" or "needle", book a morning slot and bring a favourite toy.

Can I book my whole family at once? Yes. Add each person when you book and we'll try to schedule back-to-back visits.
